North Garden Volunteer Fire Company was formed in 1970 with approximately 30 charter members. They began with a 2 bay building, later adding 2 additional bays in 1974. Over the years the company has evolved and more space was necessary. In 1999, NGVFC completed a building addition that added 3 larger bays, a recreation room, and 2 bunkrooms.
Of those 30 Charter Members, 5 are still active members of the Fire Company continuing to presently serve.
